A 24-hour call centre, reachable via the 1390 hotline, has been introduced as part of the Patient Home Isolation and Management System (PHIMS) for low-risk COVID-19 patients between ages two and 65 years who are asymptomatic or only show mild symptoms.

A call centre and medical care team will observe the patient for a period of 14 days and take steps to arrange hospitalisation for any patient requiring urgent medical care. The guidelines for homecare for COVID-19 patients were issued by the Health Ministry after several hospitals reached maximum patient capacity with the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

According to the Health Ministry, after a patient tests positive for COVID-19 following a PCR or rapid antigen test, the Medical Officer of Health of the area will observe the patient as per guidelines issued and take steps to either treat the patient at home or at a treatment centre.

Patients are required to sign a consent form when they opt for home care.

The patient will be registered using a digital platform and the call centre will confirm the information with the patient. The patient will then be observed by medical specialists from the call centre and will be released from home isolation after 14 days after further evaluation.
