High-ranking Maldivian State officials meet with President

The Deputy Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament and five Cabinet Ministers from the Maldivian Government visited the Kurumba Maldives resort yesterday to hold discussions with President Anura Kumara Disanayake.

Those who met with the President included: Maldivian Parliament Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Saeed, Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, Finance and Planning; Minister Moosa Zameer, and Homeland Security and Technology Minister Ali Ihusaan.

They expressed their gratitude to President Disanayake for his state visit to the Maldives. They conveyed their confidence that this visit, which marks the 60th anniversary of strong diplomatic relations between the two nations, will lay the foundation for deeper cooperation, broader understanding and an even stronger friendship in the future.

Several Senior Government officials from Sri Lanka, including Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, also participated in the discussions.
