Govt. to hold 21 May Day rallies across island

President, PM and JVP leaders to attend

The National People’s Power (NPP) will hold 21 May Day rallies across 21 major cities island-today (1), with senior Government and party leaders scheduled to attend events in multiple locations.

NPP Leader and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is due to attend the May Day rally in Nuwara Eliya in the morning and another in Maharagama in the afternoon.

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya will participate in the May Day rally in Ratnapura.

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva is scheduled to attend rallies in Kalutara, Matara and Tangalle.

Minister Bimal Rathnayake will attend May Day events in Vavuniya and Jaffna.
