The second phase of the auction to sell luxury and decommissioned vehicles owned by the Presidential Secretariat was successfully concluded yesterday generating over Rs. 200 million in revenue.
A total of 26 vehicles, previously allocated for former Ministers and the former President, to their advisers and staff appointed under Article 41(1) of the Constitution during their tenure, were listed for sale.
Out of these, 17 vehicles were successfully sold yesterday following significant demand in the auction, attracting 108 registered bidders participating.
These vehicles, manufactured between 1991 and 2016, include a range of high-end and utility models: one BMW car, two Ford Everest SUVs, one Hyundai Terracan SUV, two Land Rover SUVs, one Mitsubishi Montero, three Nissan Patrol jeeps, two Nissan-type motor cars, one Porsche Cayenne, five SsangYong Rexton SUVs, one Toyota Land Cruiser Sahara SUV, six Toyota V08 jeeps, and one Mitsubishi Rosa air-conditioned bus.
The initiative was a part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to reducing public expenditure and ensuring fiscal discipline.
Yesterday’s auction follows the successful first phase of the program, during which 14 luxury vehicles, six decommissioned vehicles and various spare parts were sold.
