A high-level meeting to review the implementation of Sri Lanka’s National Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2025-2029 was held on Wednesday (30 July) at the Presidential Secretariat.

The discussion brought together the Heads of the National Steering Committee and key representatives from both State and private sector institutions involved in executing the strategy. The session was chaired by Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

The National Anti-Corruption Action Plan, launched on 9 April 2025 under the theme “Towards a Country of Integrity,” is an initiative based on the vision of President Anura Kumara Disanayake. It is scheduled to be implemented over a five-year period from 2025 onwards.

During the meeting, the Secretary to the President emphasised that the Heads of all institutions tasked with responsibilities pertaining to the activities outlined in the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan must develop an action plan to meet their assigned duties. Furthermore, the National Steering Committee is expected to periodically assess the progress of these action plans.

The National Steering Committee comprises representatives from both the public and private sectors. The Steering Committee is chaired by Dr. Kumanayake, while Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Director General Ranga Dissanayake serves as Vice Chairman and Convener.
