Govt. awards 6-month petrol supply to Singapore’s Vitol

The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting on Monday, agreed on awarding the contracts to supply 92 Unl Petrol for six months, starting 15 April to Singapore’s Vitol Asia Ltd., following competitive bids.

The Government said the move follows seven bids called from registered suppliers of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).“Bids were called from the registered suppliers of CPC to purchase five shipments of 92 Unl barrels of 300,000 + /-5% petrol for the period of six months from 15 April to 14 October 2025,” Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said at the post-Cabinet meeting with the media yesterday. Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal tabled by the Power Minister Eng. Kumara Jayakody to award the relevant contract for the Vitol Asia (Singapore) Ltd., as recommended by the Standing Procurement Committee and the Special Standard Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers.
