Gota’s ex-private secretary remanded until 8 July over salary probe

Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s former private secretary, Sugeeshwara Bandara, was yesterday further remanded until 8 July by the Fort Magistrate’s Court.

Bandara, who was produced before court yesterday, was arrested by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) on 18 June as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities involving Government salary payments.

He is accused of simultaneously drawing salaries from two separate Government institutions.
