Germany says ‘military force alone’ won’t resolve conflicts

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has said that it is “illusory” to think that the conflict can be resolved “by military force and unilateral action alone.”

“We must emphasise this repeatedly to our American and Israeli friends, and we will continue to do so,” Pistorius told the German Parliament.

In a meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told reporters that he backed the aims of the US-Israeli war on Iran, but called for its early end over concerns of its impact on the global economy.
