German South Asia Parliamentary Group Head of Delegation Nicklas Kappe
A four-member delegation from the German South Asia Parliamentary Group, led by German Parliament Member Nicklas Kappe, will arrive in Sri Lanka for a three-day visit from 15 to 17 September, 2026.
The multi-party delegation, accompanied by Chargée d’Affaires a.i. Sarah Hasselbarth, will hold several meetings in Colombo with senior Government members, including a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Dr. Salih Rizvie, besides engaging with the Sri Lanka Germany Parliamentary Friendship Association.
The delegation will also meet Opposition members, civil society representatives, business leaders and other stakeholders. As part of the visit, the delegation is scheduled to tour the Port of Colombo.
The visit will give the Members of Parliament an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the progress Sri Lanka has made in recent years, learn about recent developments in the country and discuss opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations between Germany and Sri Lanka.
