Foreign Minister Herath to visit Thailand

Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath will undertake an official visit to Thailand from 14 to 16 September, at the invitation of the Thai Labour Minister.

During the visit, Minister Herath will hold discussions with the Labour Minister, Tourism Minister, and Foreign Affairs Acting Minister of Thailand, focusing on further advancing bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The two sides will further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of labour through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Labour Cooperation and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on the Employment of Sri Lankan Workers in Thailand.

The visit will provide an opportunity to advance practical cooperation in tourism and employment, migration and labour mobility, strengthen people-to-people links, and enhance bilateral economic engagement between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
