Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) yesterday morning and recorded a statement as part of an ongoing investigation, before leaving the premises after several hours of questioning.

Rajapaksa arrived at the Commission around 9:00 a.m. following a summons issued by the Bribery Commission. He remained at the CIABOC for close to two and a half hours providing his statement to investigators.

The former President subsequently left the premises after completing the process, with inquiries continuing.
