The Ministry of Education has issued special guidelines for schools to ensure continuity of teaching and administration while reducing energy consumption amid ongoing fuel constraints.
Under the new measures, all schools will operate four days a week, with Wednesdays designated as a holiday until further notice. Principals have been instructed to assign exercises, revisions and other activities to enable students to continue learning from home on those days.
The Ministry said schools must prioritise completion of the syllabus within the limited available time and avoid using school hours for events or programmes organised internally or by external parties.
School festivals and other monthly activities are to be conducted with minimal fuel usage, while fuel-intensive events such as vehicle parades have been suspended.
Educational tours, including those already scheduled, have also been temporarily halted until further notice.
The Ministry said the measures are intended to maintain the continuity of education while adapting to current constraints, adding that further instructions will be issued once the situation improves.
