A high-level delegation from Sri Lanka, led by Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Sampath Thuyacontha accompanied by senior civil and military officers from the Defence Ministry and the Tri-Forces, arrived in Pakistan on 27 April to conduct Defence Dialogues 2025.
The visit aimed to further strengthen the longstanding defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and Pakistan through comprehensive discussions on strategic issues, military collaboration, and new avenues for enhanced cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Sri Lankan delegation was warmly received by Acting High Commissioner Christy Ruban, at the Sri Lankan High Commission in Islamabad; senior officials from Pakistan’s Defence Ministry and the Defence Adviser of the Mission Brigadier Kaminda Silva.
This visit marks a significant step in reinforcing the deep-rooted defence ties between the two countries and underscores their shared commitment to regional peace, security, and development.
