David Myers

David Myers assumed the position of Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the US Embassy in Sri Lanka in September 2026, bringing with him a career spanning multiple continents in both diplomacy and law.

In his most recent assignment at Embassy Skopje, North Macedonia, Myers served as Acting DCM and Political-Economic Section Chief. His earlier postings with the State Department include tours in Guangzhou, China; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Moscow, Russia.

Before joining the State Department, Myers worked as a lawyer specialising in antitrust law. He held roles at the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division in Washington, D.C., the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in Melbourne, and at various private firms. Myers is married with two children.
