Cuba, Qatar and Slovenia envoys present credentials to President

Ambassadors-designate of Cuba, Qatar and Slovenia yesterday presented their Letters of Credence to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at a ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat.

The credentials were presented by Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Cuba to Sri Lanka Patricia Lázara Pego Guerra, resident in Colombo; Ambassador-designate of the State of Qatar to Sri Lanka Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sanad Al-Dosari, resident in Colombo; and Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Slovenia to Sri Lanka Tomaž Mencin, resident in New Delhi.

The Government of the Republic of Cuba, the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, with the concurrence of the Government of Sri Lanka, have appointed the three envoys as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Sri Lanka.

Each Ambassador formally presented credentials to the President during the ceremony.

Following the presentation, the President held discussions with the newly appointed Ambassadors.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath and Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake were also present.
