Committee on High Posts approves four new Ambassadors, two Ministry Secretaries, two Chairpersons

The Committee on High Posts has approved the appointments of four new ambassadors, two ministry secretaries and two chairpersons of institutions. 

Accordingly, the Committee on High Posts has approved the appointment of  W.A.U.P. Prerera as the new Sri Lankan ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and T. P. Dharmasena as the new Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Poland, the appointment of  E.A.S.W. Edirisinghe as the new Sri Lankan ambassador to Thailand, and  P.A.P Ponnamperuma as the new Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar were also approved by the Committee on High Posts. 

In addition, the Committee has approved the appointments of (Eng) R.G. Rubasinghe as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Highways and K.N.K. Somaratne as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Fisheries. 

Furthermore, the Committee on high Posts has approved the appointment of S.M.D.L.K De Alwis as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board and the appointment of Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma as the new chairman of the Sri Lanka Industrial Development Board. 

Speaker of the House Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena Chaired the Committee on High Posts and Minister Douglas Devananda, Members of Parliament John Senaviratne, Rishad Bathiudeen, Thalatha Athukorala, Udaya Gammanpila and Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle participated in the meeting.
