Diplomats based in Colombo have made a personal contribution of Rs. 3.6 million to the government’s “Rebuilding Sri Lanka” Fund, which provides relief to people affected by the recent devastating cyclone.
The relevant cheque was handed over yesterday to Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, by Ambassador of Indonesia Dewi Gustina Tobing.
Joining the occasion were several Ambassadors and High Commissioners representing their countries based in Colombo, including Ambassador of South Korea Lee Miyon, Ambassador of Switzerland Dr. Siri Walt, Ambassador of Palestine Ihab I.M. Khalil, High Commissioner of the Maldives Masood Imad, Charge d’ Affaires, Embassy of Oman Said Al Harbi and Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Italy Alberto Arcidiacono.
