Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa on Tuesday announced that changes would be made to several top positions in State institutions, noting that the Government is currently discussing which officials should be replaced.
“The Government intends to make changes in the coming days to a number of positions, including chairpersons and heads of boards of directors of State institutions. Discussions are ongoing regarding the names,” he said, addressing the weekly post-Cabinet meeting media briefing.
He said the changes to be made will be informed shortly.
“When a Government functions, changes are made in institutions. Some officials request transfers for personal reasons or to take on other responsibilities. In some cases, we also consider that changes would be beneficial. All these factors are taken into account when making such decisions,” Dr. Jayatissa explained.
