Ceremony marks 119th birth anniversary of late President J.R. Jayewardene

Late President J.R. Jayewardene

A memorial ceremony commemorating the 119th birth anniversary of the late President J.R. Jayewardene will be held today at the main auditorium of the J.R. Jayewardene Centre, Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7. The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The program will include an oration by former diplomat and academic Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku, who is expected to reflect on the life, legacy and contributions of Sri Lanka’s first Executive President.

Organised by the J.R. Jayewardene Centre, the ceremony seeks to pay tribute to the former Head of State.
