The Cabinet of Ministers at their meeting on Monday approved submitting newly gazetted 2026 anti-corruption regulations, which mandate digital asset declarations and target high-risk officials, to Parliament for approval.

On 30 March 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the publication of the Anti-Corruption (Declaration of Assets and Liabilities through Centralised Electronic System) Regulations, 2026 and the Anti-Corruption (High Risk Groups to Submit Declaration of Assets and Liabilities) Regulations, 2026, made in accordance with the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act, No. 9 of 2023, through a Gazette Notification.

The said regulations were also published through Extraordinary Gazette Notifications Nos. 2482/03 and 2482/04 dated on 30 March 2026, respectively.

The proposal to this effect was submitted by Justice and National Integration Minister Harshana Nanayakkara.

Responding to a question posed by a journalist on progress of amendments to the Online Safety Act (OSA), Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa expressed hope that it will receive Cabinet approval at the next meeting.
