Cabinet Spokesperson and Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said yesterday the Cabinet approved an additional Rs. 6 billion for the Rural Road Rehabilitation and Improvement Program.

He said Rs. 11.5 billion from the 2025 budget allocation of Rs. 14 billion had already been assigned to rural roads, and Rs. 5 billion more was allocated in August. The new provision raises the total further, as the value of all identified projects across districts amounts to Rs. 26 billion.
