Cabinet approves appointment of new Director General of Government Factory Department

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of S.N.B.M. Padmasiri as the new Director General of the Department of Government Factory with immediate effect.

Padmasiri, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service, currently serves as the Additional Director General of the Department. He succeeds A. Wijesinghe, who retired from public service on 9 July 2026, creating the vacancy.

The appointment was approved following a proposal submitted by Housing, Construction and Water Supply Minister Dr. Susil Ranasinghe.
