Cabinet approves Rs. 1.3 b machinery purchase for flood mitigation

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the purchase of small-scale machinery for the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation (SLLDC) to strengthen its capacity in managing urban drainage systems and mitigating flood risks, Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said.

The procurement will be carried out at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,233 million, funded through an equity contribution of Rs. 625 million from the General Treasury and additional allocations from the Corporation’s own

resources. The Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Transport, Highways and Urban Development Ministry.
