Administration of COVID-19 vaccines for the 18 to 19 age group will commence on 21 October, with the vaccination program to be carried out in schools for students.

According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), vaccination in schools will take place under the supervision of a doctor. Vaccination of those who are in the 18 to 19 age group but have already left school will be carried out by the relevant medical officer of health.

The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be used for the vaccination program of this age group.

“It was revealed that 100% of the population over the age of 60 and 98% of the population over the age of 30 has been vaccinated. The President also instructed the relevant officials to take steps immediately to vaccinate those who are in the age group of 20-30,” the PMD stated.

It was also stated that over 10,000 children in the 12 to 19 age group with congenital diseases have been vaccinated.
