CC approves President’s nominee to CA

The Constitutional Council yesterday unanimously approved the nomination made by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in terms of Articles 107 (1) and 41A (1) of the Constitution to appoint High Court judge M.D. S. Abeyratne as Judge of the Court of Appeal.

The vacancy was created given the retirement of the Court of Appeal Judge Deepali Wijesundara.
