On a tip-off received by the Bandarawela Police Station, Police have seized a stock of live rounds of ammunition from a bus travelling from Colombo to Badulla.
The stock of ammunition, stored in a small metal box inside a bag, was kept on the overhead rack in the bus.
There were 123 live rounds of ammunition in the stock, which included 113 rounds of pistol ammunition, nine rounds of T-56 ammunition, and one round of T-56 LMG ammunition.
Police said that no suspect was identified so far and the Bandarawela Police is conducting further investigations to arrest the suspect.
