Areas in Colombo, Gampaha, Ratnapura and Nuwara Eliya isolated

Five areas in the Colombo, Gampaha, Ratnapura and Nuwara Eliya Districts were placed under isolation at 6 a.m. yesterday due to the detection of a large number of COVID-19 patients.

In Colombo, the Obeysekerapura Grama Niladhari (GN) Division in the Welikada Police Area was placed under isolation and two areas in the Hendala North GN Division in the Gampaha District were also isolated.

An area in the Kiriella Police Area in the Ratnapura District and an area in the Bagawanthalawa Police Area in the Nuwara Eliya District were isolated as well.

The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of the COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated that certain parts of the Yatihena GN Division in the Biyagama Police Area and the Siyambalapewatte Police Area in the Gampaha District, as well as the Demadaoya GN Division in the Mahawela Police Area in Matale District, have been released from isolation.
