AG to file indictments against Ranil before three-judge HC Bench in March

The Attorney General (AG) informed Court yesterday that indictments will be filed before a three-judge Bench of the High Court in March in connection with the case against ex-President Ranil Wickremesinghe, following the conclusion of investigations.

Appearing on behalf of the AG, Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris told Court that investigations relating to Wickremesinghe, named as the first suspect, have been completed.

He further informed Court that investigations into the second suspect, Somisara Bandara Ekanayake, also known as Saman Ekanayake, are expected to be finalised within the next month.

The Additional Solicitor General said indictments will be filed before the High Court as scheduled once the remaining investigations are concluded.
