A dozen world-renowned poets to attend Cultural Jamboree

The International Cultural Jamboree organised by the Sri Lanka Scout Association which is being held virtually from 16 to 18 July with over 20,000+ scout participants from more than 100+ counties was declared open by President and Chief Scout of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa. 

One of the main attraction of this Jamboree is the session titled ‘Poetry Around the World’. On 17 July at 7 pm Sri Lanka time (+1.30 GMT), 12 renowned poets of the world in 11 different languages will participate in this event. English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, German, Italian, Swedish, Cameroonian, Kannada and Bangla languages poets will attend this session. 

World renowned poets from USA (Melissa Studdard), Scotland (Gerry Loose), Russia (Vadim Terekhin), France (Dr. Jose Muchnik), Argentina/Germany (Jona Burghardt), Puerto Rico (Luz Maria Lopez), Germany (Tobias Burghardt), Sweden (Bengt Berg), Morocco/Italy (Dalila Hiaoui), Cameroon/USA (Dr. Joyce Ashuntantang), India (Dr. Reshma Ramesh) and Bangladesh (Aminur Rahman) are going to read and interact with boys and girls.

By attending this interactive questions/answers session, young Scout participants will be benefited and enrich their knowledge. World Scout Committee Member and Deputy Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts Attorney Janaprith Fernando will moderate the session.
