82 COVID-19 deaths raise fatalities to 4,727

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,727 with 82 COVID-19 deaths confirmed yesterday, pointing to a rise in the COVID-19 fatalities in the country.

The COVID-19 deaths confirmed yesterday include 60 persons above age 60 and 22 persons between ages 30 and 59.

The majority of the country’s COVID-19 fatalities are over the age of 60 and the Epidemiology Unit states that 74.94% of COVID-19 fatalities are over the age of 60, 23.83% between ages 30 and 59, and 1.23% below the age of 30.

Of the total fatalities, 2,750 are male and 1,977 are female. This includes the 82 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Tuesday, of which 41 were male and 41 were female.
