Over 500,000 persons have received the COVID-19 vaccine through the ongoing immunisation program being carried out in the Western Province, with 42,925 persons receiving the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine yesterday.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 146,327 persons received the vaccine between 29 January and 4 February, 31,760 persons received the vaccine from 5-11 February, 55,385 persons received the vaccine from 12-18 February, and 159,997 persons received the vaccine from 19-25 February.

On 26 February, 13,164 persons were vaccinated with 35,343 persons vaccinated the following day. On Sunday, 24,374 persons received the vaccine.

The Epidemiology Unit adds that 509,275 persons have been vaccinated to date.
