Primary grades of schools with less than 200 students will reopen on 21 October as the first phase of reopening schools in Sri Lanka.

According to the Education Ministry, grades one to five of 3,000 schools will reopen under Health Ministry regulations and health guidelines for schools.

The decision was taken yesterday following discussions between the Education Ministry and Provincial Governors over the past few days.
