Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll neared 14,000 after health authorities confirmed 23 COVID-19 fatalities on Saturday.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll is 13,995 and Epidemiology Unit data shows that 7,814 fatalities are male and 6,181 fatalities are female. 13 COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Saturday were female and ten were male.

17 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Saturday were over 60 years and six fatalities were between 30 and 59 years. Of the total COVID-19 deaths, 76.5% are over 60 years, 22.32% are between 30 and 59 years, and 1.18% are below 30 years.
