215 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Tuesday

Health officials on Tuesday confirmed 215 COVID-19 deaths, raising the country’s total COVID-19 death toll to 9,400. A total of 4,892 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed in August.

The deaths confirmed on Tuesday consist of 167 persons over the age of 60, 46 persons between ages 30 and 59, and two persons below the age of 30. The majority of COVID-19 deaths are in the over-60 age category.

The Epidemiology Unit states that 75.98% of the total fatalities are in the over-60 age group, while 22.98% are between ages 30 and 59 and 1.03% are below the age of 30.

The COVID-19 deaths confirmed on Tuesday include 115 persons who are male and 100 persons who are female. Of the total fatalities, 5,342 are male and 4,058 are male.
