215,641 persons vaccinated on Monday

A total of 215,641 persons were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Monday, raising the number of persons to receive the first dose of a vaccine to 5,876,281 and both doses to 1,697,686.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 51.1% of the country’s above 30 population has received at least one dose of a vaccine and 14.8% have received both doses.

Over 80% of the above 30 population in the Western Province have received the first dose of a vaccine and the Epidemiology Unit states that 85% of Gampaha’s over 30 population, 84.1% of Colombo’s over 30 population and 80.7% of Kalutara’s over 30 population have received the first dose of the vaccine.

At present, both doses have been administered to 21.3% of the eligible population in Gampaha, 27.2% in Colombo, and 22.2% in Kalutara.

Of the persons vaccinated on Monday, 97,699 persons received the first dose of Moderna and a total of 107,787 persons have received the first dose of the vaccine to date.

The first dose of Pfizer has been administered to 49,081 persons, including 2,328 persons vaccinated on Monday.

On Monday, 104,617 persons received the first dose of Sinopharm and 10,997 persons received the second dose of Sinopharm. Since the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine, 4,635,090 persons have received the first dose and 1,297,337 persons have received the second dose.

In addition to this, the first dose of Sputnik V has been administered to 159,081 persons and the second dose to 14,464 persons.

The first dose of AstraZeneca has been administered to 925,242 persons and the second dose to 385,885 persons.
