The Department of Immigration and Emigration has apprehended 15 Indian nationals who arrived on tourist visas and were residing in the country unlawfully.
The apprehension took place during a raid in Jaffna, carried out under the orders of Immigration and Emigration Controller General Nilusha Balasuriya.
Out of the arrested individuals, 10 have been instructed to leave the country. The Department of Immigration and Emigration said that further investigations are underway regarding the remaining five Indian nationals.
