118 COVID-19 deaths raise total fatalities to 11,817

Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll rose to 11,817 with 118 COVID-19 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the Department of Government Information, 95 deaths confirmed on Wednesday were over the age of 60 and 23 deaths were in the 30 to 59 age group. Zero deaths were confirmed from the below 30 age group.

Epidemiology Unit data shows that 76.46% of the country’s COVID-19 fatalities is over the age of 60, 22.38% is in the 30 to 59 age group, and 1.16% is below the age of 30.

61 fatalities confirmed on Wednesday were male and 57 were female. Of the total fatalities, 6,623 are male and 5,194 are female.
