Associated Motorways Ltd., (AMW), the sole authorised distributor for Nissan in Sri Lanka, last week unveiled the all-new Nissan Almera at a special launch event.
The event brought together a wide cross-section of stakeholders, including valued customers, the senior management team of AMW, Nissan representatives, and members of the media, highlighting strong market interest and confidence in the model.
Designed to meet the evolving expectations of today’s motorists, the Nissan Almera enters the local market as a smart, contemporary sedan that seamlessly blends Nissan Intelligent Mobility features with premium comfort, advanced safety, and outstanding fuel efficiency. Offered by AMW in VE Turbo CVT and VL Turbo CVT grades, the Almera is positioned to appeal to young urban professionals, executives, and families seeking a refined yet practical vehicle that delivers long-term value.
Nissan’s unique HRA0 1.0-litre turbo engine ensures drivers of responsiveness, power, and confidence when overtaking. The engine produces a maximum power of 100 horsepower (Ps) and torque of 152 Nm, providing strong and fast acceleration from continuous torque (flat torque). Since its introduction, the Nissan Almera has been well received by the market for delivering “all you need, at the speed you want.” The engine includes an Idling Stop feature that can automatically cut off the engine to save more fuel.
Further enhancing customer experience, Nissan has introduced premium Quole Modure seats for the VE Turbo CVT and VL Turbo CVT grades. This innovative seat material reflects heat effectively, reducing heat accumulation and ensuring enhanced comfort for both drivers and passengers, even during extended journeys. Complementing this upgrade, the Intelligent Key with auto lock and unlock functionality has been added to both grades, improving everyday convenience and safety.
The Nissan Almera is equipped with a wide range of comfort features designed for modern lifestyles. These include a spacious passenger cabin with generous front and rear legroom, a well-balanced cabin and trunk layout, cruise control, a wireless charger, and an upgraded infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display. Smartphone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay further enhance ease of use and in-car entertainment.
On the exterior, the Almera showcases Nissan’s bold design language with an enhanced V-Motion grille, the new Nissan brand logo, and sculpted body lines that emphasise forward motion and modernity. Inside, sporty blue gliding wing-shaped console accents and stylish bluish trims on the door panels create a refined yet dynamic cabin ambience. The vehicle also features Nissan’s renowned Zero Gravity front seats, engineered with a 14-point support structure to reduce fatigue and promote a natural seating posture during long drives.
Safety remains a cornerstone of the Nissan Almera. The sedan is equipped with class-leading features including a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, High Beam Assist, and Lane Departure Warning. Nissan’s 360-degree Safety Shield further enhances protection with technologies such as Intelligent Around View Monitor, Moving Object Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Hill Start Assist. Comprehensive protection is ensured through six SRS airbags across all grades, along with ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and pretensioner and load limiter seatbelts.
AMW Group Managing Director Jawahar Ganesh said: “The all-new Nissan Almera has been thoughtfully engineered to deliver what today’s Sri Lankan customer truly values, efficiency, safety, comfort, and intelligent design. Backed by Nissan’s global expertise and the leadership and governance of the Al-Futtaim Group, AMW continues to bring world-class, market-relevant mobility solutions to Sri Lanka.”
Nissan Motor Corporation Director Aftersales and South Asia Business Unit Atul Aggarwal said: “Customers purchasing the Nissan Almera through our authorised distributor in Sri Lanka – Associated Motorways Ltd., benefit from the Nissan Peace of Mind, a comprehensive ownership proposition that include Nissan Promise of a three-year or 100,000-kilometre OEM warranty, Nissan genuine parts and after-sales support from Nissan-trained technicians across AMW’s nationwide service network. We are confident that the New Nissan Almera will also resonate our valued customers in Sri Lanka the same way as our Nissan Magnite.”
In addition, customer-centric financing options are available through AMW Capital Leasing and Finance, offering flexible solutions tailored to individual needs.
The Nissan Almera is available in a wide selection of monotone and two-tone colour options depending on grade, with vehicle stocks now available for immediate purchase.
