Republic of Korea Ambassador Miyon Lee recently visited the Hyundai Flagship Store located at No. 65, Kirula Road, Colombo 5, underscoring the longstanding relationship between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea and the important role of trusted Korean partnerships in strengthening commercial and cultural ties between the two countries.
The visit provided an opportunity to celebrate Hyundai’s presence in Sri Lanka through its partner, Abans Auto, and to recognise the enduring partnership fostered through the efforts of Abans Auto. As one of Korea’s most prominent and globally recognised automotive brands, Hyundai continues to represent Korean innovation, engineering and excellence on the international stage.
During the visit, Ambassador Lee toured the Hyundai flagship showroom and viewed the latest models showcased by Hyundai in Sri Lanka. Particular attention was given to the Hyundai PALISADE, SANTA FE and VENUE, with the Ambassador expressing her appreciation for the new models on display.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Colombo Vice Consul Jung Haesung. Representing Abans Auto during the visit were Abans Auto Director Darius Pestonjee, General Manager Rajitha Ranasinghe, Senior Manager Shashika Rathnasekera, Senior Manager Deeves Clark, Product Manager Darren Stork, Assistant Sales Manager Maneka Dhanawardhana, Sales Executive Husni Ahmed, and Sales Executive Isham Irshad.
The visit also highlighted the value placed on building lasting connections between Sri Lanka and Korea through trusted partnerships and the presence of internationally respected Korean brands in the Sri Lankan market. The continued collaboration between Hyundai and Abans Auto reflects this relationship, with Abans Auto bringing Hyundai’s global range closer to Sri Lankan consumers.
Ambassador Lee’s visit further reaffirmed the strong goodwill surrounding the Hyundai–Abans Auto partnership and the broader Sri Lanka–Korea relationship. The Hyundai Flagship Store, operated by Abans Auto, is located at No. 65, Kirula Road, Colombo 5, and showcases Hyundai’s latest vehicles to customers across Sri Lanka.
