In keeping with its position as the undisputed leader in the automotive battery industry in Sri Lanka, Exide by Browns recently carried out an incentive-based dealer promotion, worth millions of rupees. Approximately 200 dealers across the island were chosen for this program, where over Rs. 190 million worth of cash was distributed amongst the successful achievers.

The promotion was executed to recognise Exide’s valuable partnerships and further solidify existing relationships with its dealers, while also passing the benefits of this incentive to valued customers. The campaign additionally served as a platform for motivation and reward during challenging times. The dealers highlighted that this initiative represented the highest incentive value ever received, within a short period, in the automotive sector.

Commenting on the promotion, Browns Group Automotive and Hardware Cluster Chief Operating Officer Ajith De Silva said, “As one of the leading automotive companies in Sri Lanka, we continuously prioritise nurturing relationships with our dealers while diligently working to offer them the best incentives at all times. They are one of the most important conduits of our business. In addition, the very nature of this incentive is two-fold as it provides a catalyst for price reductions to be passed onto customers as well, thereby accelerating sales island-wide.” A function to commemorate the promotion and recognise the top performers was recently held at the Galle Face Hotel. The event was graced by Browns Group Director/CEO Sanakan Thamotharampillai, Automotive and Hardware Cluster COO Ajith De Silva, Associated Battery Manufacturers Ceylon Ltd. Director/CEO Sarkar Parthar and COO Sajeewa Ranasinghe along with key officials from the Browns Group.

Established in 1875, Browns has flourished over the years to grow into a household name with a reputation as strong as its years are long. Today, the prestigious Browns Group is one of Sri Lanka’s largest diversified conglomerates, which manages a fast growing and valuable portfolio of brands across several key industry sectors, such as automotive; power generation; agriculture and plantation; pharmaceuticals; investments; marine and manufacturing as well as leisure.
