Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) has appointed to Dilrukshi Kurukulasuriya and Rumal Fernando to its Board as Executive Director and Independent Non-Executive Director respectively.
Kurukulasuriya is an Attorney at Law and Executive Director of DIMO PLC. She joined DIMO as General Manager – Human Resources and was appointed Executive Director in May 2022. She resigned from the Board on 23 December 2025 to ensure board compliance and maintain balance in line with CSE Listing Rule No. 9.8.2.
Kurukulasuriya holds an Executive MBA from the University of West London, a Human Resources Diploma from IIT, and is Gender Academy certified by ILO Turin. With over 25 years of experience in corporate leadership, governance, and organizational transformation, she drives DIMO’s strategic vision while fostering inclusive, high performing cultures. She is a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, supports women’s representation in leadership, and contributes to national initiatives on education and skill development.
Fernando is a Supply Chain specialist with over 25 years of experience at Unilever Sri Lanka where she joined as the first female Field Sales Manager and held several leadership roles within the company. She holds a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of New Delhi and an MBA in International Trade and Logistics from the Post Graduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She is an Affiliated Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (UK) and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK).
Fernando currently serves Hayleys PLC as an Independent Non-Executive Director. She is a member of Women’s Chamber of Industries and Commerce and also serves as the Chairperson of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) Sri Lanka, where she leads initiatives that empower women in many areas from leadership development to entrepreneurship and mentors young professionals and university students in Supply Chain management to strengthen the talent pipeline for the industry.
