DSI pioneers electric bicycle tyre manufacturing in Sri Lanka

DSI has introduced locally produced tyres for electric bicycles (E-Bikes) in Sri Lanka for the first time.

The most-awaited tyres can now be purchased from all tyre outlets and through the website www.dsityreshop.com. The use of normal bicycle tyres is not suitable for electric bicycles and specially designed tyres should be used instead. The tyres manufactured by DSI Tyres for electric bicycles are already in high demand in the global market.

As electric bikes are ridden at higher speeds than regular bicycles and are more autonomous, specially designed tyres should be used for the bicycles’ self-riding as well as the riders’ safety. As electric bicycles are still a new experience for Sri Lanka, people have little understanding of their proper use. These tyres are stronger than normal tyres.
