David Pieris Motor Company  Ltd. (DPMC) relaunched KTM motorcycles in Sri Lanka after a lapse of five years, marking a significant milestone in the country’s performance motorcycling landscape and reaffirming the company’s commitment to delivering world-class mobility solutions to local riders.

The latest range of KTM motorcycles was unveiled at an exclusive launch event held at the DPMC Showroom in Battaramulla. This much-anticipated relaunch reflected renewed momentum in the premium motorcycle segment and signaled the return of one of the world’s most celebrated high-performance motorcycle brands to Sri Lankan roads.

Prior to the import restrictions, DPMC successfully sold nearly 3,000 KTM motorcycles across several models, demonstrating strong demand and deep-rooted brand loyalty within the local market. Despite the absence of new imports over the past five years, KTM motorcycles already in the country continued to perform exceptionally well — a testament to the unmatched aftersales service, technical expertise and dedicated customer support consistently delivered by DPMC. This commitment ensured that existing KTM owners continued to experience peak performance, reliability and riding satisfaction.

Globally, KTM has been widely recognised as Europe’s number one racing motorcycle brand and has maintained a dominant position in the high-performance motorcycle segment. The brand has sustained a strong presence across premier racing arenas, including MotoGP, Dakar Rally, motocross and leading international racing circuits, while also performing strongly in regional markets such as India, Nepal and more than 80 countries across the globe. KTM’s racing heritage and engineering excellence have earned the trust of top riders and racing professionals worldwide.

As part of the relaunch, three key models were introduced to the Sri Lankan market — the Duke 160, Duke 250 and Adventure 390 X — each designed to deliver a powerful combination of performance, agility and advanced rider-focused technology. KTM has continued to dominate both sports and touring bike segments globally, offering riders a distinctive blend of speed, design, control and riding experience.

Renowned for aggressive styling, bold design language and racing-inspired engineering, KTM motorcycles are equipped with powerful liquid-cooled engines with 6-speed gear systems, lightweight split trellis frames and advanced WP APEX USD suspension systems to ensure superior handling and acceleration. Selected models feature advanced technologies such as dual-disc, dual-channel ABS with four-piston radial-mounted callipers, ride modes including Supermoto ABS, ride-by-wire systems, a slipper clutch, Quickshifter+ and modern TFT colour displays with a host of features, delivering enhanced safety, control and riding exhilaration.

As the sole authorised distributor for KTM in Sri Lanka, DPMC has already planned an extensive showroom and service network across the island, including expansion into the Northern and Eastern Provinces, ensuring greater accessibility for customers nationwide. The company is also fully prepared to deliver its renowned after-sales support through trained technical teams, genuine spare parts availability and dedicated customer care, ensuring that KTM riders continue to enjoy an unmatched ownership journey.

The relaunch marks another milestone in DPMC’s ongoing mission to bring globally renowned brands and cutting-edge mobility solutions to Sri Lankan customers, enabling riders once again to experience performance motorcycling defined by racing DNA, innovation and precision engineering.
