Cinnamon Bentota Beach added a vintage touch to its award-winning art and architecture during the ‘Classic Car Run’ recently, hosted in collaboration with the Classic Car Club of Ceylon.

The high-profile social event brought members of the Classic Car Club of Ceylon together over their profound respect and love for classic cars while also revelling in the iconic aesthetic of the property and in the signature facilities available at the resort. The event was a meeting of giants in collectibles in Sri Lanka – of retro motor cars and historical art and architecture.

The participants savoured a creative and scrumptious lunch buffet by Cinnamon Bentota Beach’s award-winning chefs. The special guests enjoyed all the facilities of the hotel while also taking advantage of the water sports on offer.

As a property with a historical significance, the lifestylist cum historian of Cinnamon Bentota Beach took the discerning guests on a guided tour of the property with insights into the highlights of the art and architecture of this unique piece of modern architectural history. The activities culminated on the right note with an exclusive high tea and live music which further uplifted the lively vibe of the event.

The Classic Car Run kicked off from Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo towards Cinnamon Bentota Beach via inner roads to heighten the thrill of the drive. Locations were identified along the drive for competitions and for pit stops. Cinnamon Bentota Beach was selected as the central attraction of art and culture.

Classic Car Club of Ceylon President Clive De Silva Jr.said: “The Classic Car Run is one of the highlights in the club’s annual calendar of events. Restoring and running these vehicles is a unique hobby for people who value classic cars and understand their place in the evolution of motor vehicles and for their aesthetic appeal. We believe Cinnamon Beach Bentota reflects the same love for conserving heritage and history as it has done by restoring the property to its former glory by highlighting its art heritage stamped by famous artists and architects, which gives it a singular identity. Both have such an indescribable charm. Having this event in Bentota encourages our members to savour all these wonderful facilities and F&B experiences the property offers while enjoying the classics.”

Cinnamon Bentota Beach is a multitude of captivating recreational elements – and welcomes local and international travellers who are seeking a safe and secure holiday complete with rich heritage, diverse food and beverage options, personalised experiences and privacy for a luxurious escape on the southern coast of Sri Lanka.
