Marking a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s automotive sector, Browns has become the first entity in the country to receive the Overseas Manufacturing Authorisation from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) for the importation of motorcycle batteries.
Browns Group Chief Operating Officer – Automotive and Hardware Cluster Ajith De Silva said: “Securing this first-of-its-kind authorisation from SLSI is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality. With Yoshido, we are not merely importing batteries; we are introducing world-class technology that has been independently verified to meet the performance requirements and environmental conditions of Sri Lankan riders. This recognition further strengthens our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality products to the local market.”
The manufacturing facility underwent a comprehensive audit by SLSI, with product conformity successfully verified against the relevant Sri Lankan Standards, ensuring compliance with stringent quality and performance requirements.

This extensive lineup ensures compatibility with virtually every motorcycle model currently operating on Sri Lankan roads, catering to a broad and diverse customer base.
With this new SLSI authorisation, Browns further reinforces its position as an industry pioneer, providing Sri Lankan motorcyclists with enhanced reliability, safety, and the assurance of internationally benchmarked quality standards through Yoshido motorcycle batteries.
