The 117th Annual General Meeting of the Automobile Association of Ceylon was held recently at the Association Auditorium. The AGM was well attended. AAC was established in year 1904.

Whilst the members appreciated the manner in which the arrangement had been made for the meeting, they also commended on the excellent performance of the President and the Executive Committee members of their achievements during the year 2021. There was much recognition for the record financial achievement of Rs. 17.8 Million net profit earned after taxation, which is 33.3% increase in comparison to the previous year. This was despite of covid 19 virus state lockdown in the first three months of this period. 

The following will continue to serve for the committee for the ensuing: President - Dhammika Attygalle; Vice Presidents -  Ananda Dangalla and Keerthi Gunawardena; Executive Committee - S.V. Ganesh, P.H. Liyanage J.P., P.B. Kulatunga, S. Mannapperuma J.P., Dr. Vijaya Corea,  Harsha Panduwawala, Dampiya Banagala, S. Ravi, Wickrama R. Punchihewa (Attorney at Law), Prasanna De Zoysa, Lasitha Gunaratne and M.R.M. Farook.

The President of the Association from the chair proposed the name of President of the Democratic 

Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as patron of the association and Piyankara Jayaratne M.P(Life Member) 

and Desamannya, Sasana Keerthi Sri Lanka Puthra Nandadasa Rajapaksa (Life Member) Emeritus Chairman 

D.S.I. Group as Vice Patrons, which were carried unanimously.
