The Most Admired Companies of Sri Lanka Awards, jointly organised by AICPA & CIMA, the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka, and Daily FT, recognise and celebrate the best in Sri Lankan business. These are the companies that have built strong reputations and are driving prosperity in Sri Lanka through the creation of long-term value.

As the world of business keeps transforming, facing a variety of disruptions, be it from technology, geopolitical changes, financial crises or the war on talent; these awards stand testament to our commitment towards helping businesses and people succeed locally and globally.

The Most Admired Companies Awards, conceptualised initially by visionary business leader Dinesh Weerakkody, FCMA (UK), CGMA is the only one of its kind in Sri Lanka. Entry into these awards isn’t charged and the ranking is bestowed based on stringent evaluations initially by a technical panel of Chartered Global Management Accountants (CGMAs), and then by the esteemed panel of judges. Year on year, the judges consider trends and developments in the global sphere as well in order to select the best of the best. Financials and non- financials are considered with greater weight on the latter.

At the heart of these and other successful businesses are finance professionals equipped with the right skills, knowledge and tools to lead their organisations to even greater success in the future.

In that future world, change will continue to be constant. As we can see already, Machines and humans will increasingly work together, and technology continues to augment human intelligence. Lifelong learning has become ever-more important as the skills and knowledge we value today will be replaced by others.

Informed by our Future of Finance research, AICPA & CIMA are providing resources to prepare this and the next generation of management accountants for this profound shift. By driving better decision-making in companies, our CGMAs are continuing to contribute to the success of the best companies in Sri Lanka, Asia and across the world.

Our congratulations to the worthy Winners and those recognised as Honourably Mentioned. You work every day to drive sustainable success and inclusive prosperity in Sri Lanka, and this is the level of excellence that every organisation should be striving for.

You can be proud of what you have achieved. You are a true inspiration to us all and have set the bar very high. Every single company on the list should celebrate how far they have come. Thank you for choosing to make the right kind of difference for Sri Lanka.

I would like to extend our gratitude to the Chief Guest at the Awards Ceremony, Saman Ekanayake, Secretary to the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and to our keynote speaker Katsuki Kotaro, the Deputy Head of Mission for Japan in Sri Lanka for being at the awards ceremony and adding glamour to the event.

The various partners who have worked with us over the years – KPMG, AIA, Dialog Axiata PLC, Ceylinco Insurance, NSB, Vidullanka, CSE, and LOLC, are also gratefully remembered for making this initiative a success.

Zahara Ansary, FCMA(UK), CGMA
