The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is set to bring internationally acclaimed speaker, entrepreneur and author Sandro Forte (GSF, FPSA, CSP) to Sri Lanka for “Dare to be Different”, a high-impact professional development program designed to expose Sri Lankan business leaders and professionals to global perspectives on leadership, peak performance, communication and business growth.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative under SLIM’s Presidential agenda, the program will also support the Indira Cancer Trust, connecting professional development with a meaningful social cause.
Through this partnership, the Indira Cancer Trust will be supported through the initiative, extending the value of the program beyond professional development and contributing to the support of cancer patients and their families. The collaboration reflects SLIM’s commitment to creating opportunities for professional learning while also supporting initiatives that contribute to meaningful social impact.
SLIM President Enoch Perera said: “As part of my Presidential vision of ‘International Marketing – Taking Sri Lankan Marketing to the World,’ I believe SLIM must create greater access to global knowledge, thinking and experiences for Sri Lankan professionals. Bringing Sandro Forte to Sri Lanka is an important step in that direction. With his extensive international experience across more than 90 countries and his work with leading global organisations, this program offers our business community an opportunity to learn directly from an internationally recognised thought leader. Equally important, we are connecting this professional experience with a meaningful social purpose through our partnership with the Indira Cancer Trust. We want SLIM events to create value not only in the room, but also beyond it.”
Vice President – Events and Sustainability Rajiv David said: “As SLIM, we believe our events should create impact beyond the stage. Partnering with the Indira Cancer Trust connects professional development with a meaningful cause, extending the impact beyond the event.”
Representing the Indira Cancer Trust, Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake, Chairperson, said “For us at Indira Cancer Trust, partnerships are meaningful when they translate into something real for a person facing cancer. We are grateful to SLIM for creating a platform that brings people together to learn and grow, while helping us continue to support patients and families during one of the hardest periods of their lives.”
CEO Chamil Wickremasinghe said that “Dare to be Different” is an opportunity to create impact beyond professional development. He noted that partnering with the Indira Cancer Trust enables SLIM to connect international learning with a meaningful social cause, extending the reach of the initiative and creating an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. As SLIM, we believe international learning should extend beyond the workshop itself. Our partnership with the Indira Cancer Trust allows us to create an experience that brings global perspectives to professionals while also supporting a meaningful social cause.”
