Companions as many would know, is an exclusive network of professionally qualified senior leaders of the industry. Nagendra joins a band of five other companions of Sri Lanka who have so far been elected as companions of this prestigious institution.
Briefly Nagendra is a retired Senior Director of Carsons Cumberbatch & PLC, its Associates and its subsidiary companies. He is presently Director/Chairman of a number of public listed and private companies. Nagendra was the Past President of SKAL International Colombo (International Association of Travel and Tourism Professionals), Past Secretary of SKAL Asian Area Region and Past President of Pacific Asia Travel Association, Sri Lanka Chapter. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and former Chairman of the Import Section of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce for a number of years.
He was also former Committee Member of Transport, Highways and Aviation of the Monitoring & Progress Division of the Ministry of Policy Developing and Implementation. He is actively involved in many social and Trustee of charitable organisations. Nagendra holds a Master of Business Administration from the United Kingdom and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers – Sri Lanka. The High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, John Ranking will present Nagendra the Companion certificate.
