A special career development program for final-year students of the University of Moratuwa was recently organised by The Management Club (TMC) – Mount Lavinia Chapter, aimed at equipping undergraduates with practical knowledge to bridge the gap between university and the corporate world.

The session featured two respected industry experts – Senior Management Consultant and experienced corporate leader Roger Talayaratne and CIM (UK) Brand Ambassador for Sri Lanka and Inotrend International CEO Abdul Careem.

Talayaratne delivered an insightful session on, “How to Find the Right Job or Internship,” guiding students on how to identify the right organisations to apply to, craft effective CVs, and face interviews with confidence. Drawing from decades of experience, he shared real-life examples and practical tips that resonated strongly with the participants.

Careem, speaking on “Cracking the Corporate Code of Radical Success,” offered a deeper perspective on how mindset, behaviour, and personal branding influence long-term success. Introducing concepts from Neuromarketing and Behavioural Science, he explained how understanding human psychology can give young professionals a powerful edge in their careers.

The program concluded with an engaging Q&A, where students interacted closely with the speakers and received valuable advice for their future careers.

The Management Club – Mount Lavinia Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Sri Lanka’s youth through knowledge-sharing and mentorship programs that connect students with business leaders and industry experts.
